Best vermut in town for the best price for value! We are basically haunters here with my husband and some dearest friends. Very high quality tapas prepared with care in this well-run family business. 2nd best patatas bravas (after Las Delicias restaurant at the bunkers), very spicy but very good bomba, homemade (not frozen) ensalada rusa prepared just as my grandmother would make it. The jamon iberico they put in sandwich is the best so far I have eaten in Barcelona. I am not fond of snails, except if it is prepared here by the wife. As it is a family business with mostly local customers from the neighbourhood and haunters like us, the staff cannot be measured by mainstream restaurant standards or as a first-timer or tourist. They are professional, yes. Are they kind and friendly? Yes, in their own way. I cannot be objective here, as we spent so many nice evenings and afternoons here, and with some of the staff already have some insiders’ jokes. The only real problem of the place is that inside is very tiny and the cosy (heated in the winter) terrace has only 4 tables which during lunch and dinnertime is always full and many times almost impossible to get a table. My trip to Barcelona has been postponed thrice so when i finally made it, i was over the moon! Arrived late night so i headed Vermouteria Lou, which i have discovered thru Youtube. It was Friday midnight. I was greeted?? by this lady with long hair a bit on the round physique (not bodyshaming). I didnt see her smile the whole time i was there. This is a very Spanish place with a great variety of dishes. However the service is not well understood and very nasty manners are showing along your stay. They have the menu of tapas on the wall and they don't make any effort to supply you a hard copy. Service is poor, slow and impatient. On the other hand it is extremely overpriced. You feel they have just taken advantage of you when you ask for the bill....nasty surprise arrives then. If you don't care about being mistreated and being generously scammed by overprice particular policies, then this is the Spanish place for you. I don't recommend this place....
